Two weeks before the third round of the European Championship, the drivers and karts from the Ricky Flynn Motorsport team were extremely competitive at the Ampfing circuit for the third round of the DKM German Championship. Victories and fastest laps followed, with Thompson and Maloney now in the top two in the OK standings, as are Askey and O'Sullivan in Junior where four RFM drivers are in the top five.

Zane Maloney proved unbeatable in OK throughout the weekend of 2nd and 3rd June, 2018. The pole-sitter, he won his heats and the two Finals on Sunday. This magnificent feat allowed him to return to 2nd place in the championship with two events left. Harry Thompson pushed him throughout the meeting, ranked 2nd in the category. Held up at the start of Race 2, he proved his performance by moving up from 5th to 2nd place and remains clearly at the top of the standings.

In OK-Junior, Paul Aron dominated the competition for a long time. Fastest in Qualifying, winner of the heats and in Race 1, he had to concede 3rd place in Race 2. Absent from the first round at Lonato, Paul jumped 14 places in the Championship to 4th place. Kai Askey continued to demonstrate his skill in Aron's wake with a win in a heat and a long run of 2nd places that earned him the lead in the provisional standings. Now fully settled into the British team, Thomas Ten Brinke was in the top five of both races while progressing to 5th place in the Championship. Four times holder of the fastest lap, Zak O'Sullivan lost ground due to a spoiler penalty in his first run. However, he was 6th in Race 2 which allowed him to climb to 2nd place in the provisional rankings. Gaining 10 places to 12th place in Race 1, Matthews Rees unfortunately had to retire close to the finish of the second race. Finally Conrad Laursen made a good comeback in the top 10 of Race 2 after some tough heats.

Ricky Flynn Motorsport can therefore approach the next round of the European Championship with serious ambitions at the same circuit of Ampfing before the conclusion of the European season at Essay (FRA) in early August.
