Ricky Flynn Motorsport continues to garner international success season after season. Last year, the British team enabled Sami Taoufik to win the official title of Rookie of the Year, which recognises the top OK driver up to 16 years of age over all the European Championship and World Championship events. In 2018, RFM was again successful with Harry Thompson, crowned 2018 FIA Karting Rookie of the Year. At just 14 years old, Harry had a magnificent run in his first year in OK. He had discovered this category at the Winter Cup before showing his full talent with the FA Kart / Vortex team. He became vice-Champion of Europe and brilliantly won the DKM German Championship.
The title of 2018 FIA Karting Rookie of the Year illustrates the potential of his young talent among the elite of international karting that which got him noticed by Red Bull and integrated into the Junior Team. This success also reflects on the entire RFM team who have accompanied him for two years. "I'm proud of Harry," said Ricky Flynn. "It's a reward for us as we're not just investing in equipment performance. We are also working hard on the human side of racing to train our drivers for the rest of their careers."
