The fourth and final event of the WSK Super Master Series took place again at Sarno. Much different from the previous week, the weather was summery with very high temperatures for the season, and the Ricky Flynn Motorsport team enabled most of its drivers to defend their chances with their high-performance FA Kart / Vortex karts. Maloney and Thompson had started the meeting very well in OK, but some incidents on the track prevented them from finishing the competition where they deserved. O'Sullivan had the same misfortune in OK-Junior while Paul Aron made an exemplary run towards the Final victory and 3rd place in the Championship.

After strong performances in the top three of the heats and during the Prefinal A in OK-Junior, Zak O'Sullivan lost everything during a clash on the first lap of the Final. Fastest driver in the meeting and 2nd in Qualifying, Paul Aron took the lead in the Junior category with three wins in the heats. He won again in Prefinal A, while achieving the fastest time in the race, and won the fight in the Final which propelled him to 3rd place in the Championship. Conrad Laursen showed great determination to return from his 65th time in Qualifying. Increasingly fast, he managed to qualify for the Final and made a fantastic recovery of 19 places to finish 12th. Kai Askey also progressed in the heats and regained more than 10 positions in the Final by finishing 18th. Matthew Rees had two great runs, but had to retire in the Prefinal when qualification for the Final was close at hand.

All had started well for Zane Maloney, poleman in OK, and Harry Thompson, who took 3rd in the presence of more than 70 competitors. They tied their performances in the heats by taking three wins, but also dropped back once each in battle. Holder of three fastest laps in the heats, Thompson confirmed his progression by finishing 6th in the Prefinal and then facing the best in the Final. After a hard battle, he returned to the top 10 of the competition and regained 14 places in the championship. Maloney made a strong comeback in the Final until an incident forced him to retire after six laps. Starting from a distance in Qualifying, Dan Skocdopole had too many problems in the heats to qualify for the Final.

The first round of the CIK-FIA European Championship will be held from 20th to 22nd April 2018 at the same circuit of Sarno, an important event well prepared for by the drivers and the RFM team.
